ASH (N. APPALACHIAN) (more information) WHITE (SAP) M&P White Ash is selected for white (sapwood) in accordance with N.H.L.A. rules governing "Sap Birch" &/or "Sap Hard Maple" ("...each required cutting shall have one clear sapwood face") to provide uniform color.

NATURAL (UNSELECTED) M&P Natural Ash is developed from those boards that don't quite meet our exacting requirements for White Ash. Many boards still contain a fair % of White (sapwood), yet at a substantial price reduction relative to White Ash.
BROWN ASH Brown Ash contains boards that do not meet our specifications for White Ash or even Natural Ash. It's a great product for jobs that are going to be painted or your customer wants a rustic look from a high % of brown (heartwood) developing.

BIRCH (WHITE PAPER) Predominately grows in most regions of Canada and the Northern Tier of the United States. The texture is fine and uniform, with a creamy colored sapwood and is used mostly for furniture, toys and woodenware products.
BIRCH, APPALACHIAN (PA) Also known as Sweet Birch or Black Birch. This species, because of it's light colored sapwood makes it a good alternative to Canadian Yellow White (SAP) Birch; and at a much lower price!!! It has good machining, gluing and finishing qualities.

WHITE (SAP) M&P White Birch (Sap Yellow Birch) is selected for white (sapwood) in accordance with N.H.L.A. rules governing "Sap Birch" ("...each required cutting shall have one clear sapwood face") to provide uniform color.
RED (HEART) M&P Red Birch is selected for red (heartwood) in accordance with N.H.L.A. rules governing "Red Birch" ("...each required cutting shall have one clear heartwood face") to provide uniform color.

CEDAR, SPANISH (TROP.AM.) Spanish Cedar is a very cost-effective substitute for Mahogany, especially for exterior applications.

CHERRY (PENNSYLVANIA) (more information) M&P Cherry is purchased exclusively from northwestern Pennsylvania, the one area in the world known to produce material that contains limited gum while providing consistent red color. Though our Cherry is sold under NHLA rules of Sap-and-Gum-No-Defect (SGND), M&P buys from only those mills that consistently provide the highest percentage heartwood developing.

CYPRESS (SOUTHERN) (more information) Cypress is an exceptional substitute for higher priced Mahogany and White Pine.
ELM (SLIPPERY) (more information) A brand new item for M&P! It's unique application in steam bending makes it attractive for specialty furniture. The sapwood is grayish to light brown, and the heartwood is brown to dark brown. Although surfacing requires some care, it sands and finishes well.

MAHOGANY, (AFRICAN) African Mahogany is an excellent substitute for Genuine Mahogany, with prices approximately 33% less than Genuine.

PATTERN
MAHOGANY, (SAPELE) Excellent substitute for Genuine Mahogany with very similar characteristics. Heartwood is medium to fairly dark reddish brown.
RIBBON
MAPLE, (PACIFIC COAST) (more information) M&P Pacific Coast Maple offers more uniform color with less variations than found in Hard and Soft Maple. An excellent substitute for Alder.
MAPLE, HARD (N. APPALACHIAN) (more information) WHITE ("1 & 2 WHITE") M&P White Hard Maple is purchased from select mills known to consistently produce the best yield of sapwood. All grades are bought, inspected, and sold based on the NHLA grading rules for "No. 1 White Hard Maple" and "No. 2 White hard Maple". To ensure that our customers receive the fullest value from these standards, M&P has developed unique drying practices to prevent sticker stain & shadow; we guarantee our Hard Maple to yield stain-free cutting units at standard surfaced thickness.

OAK, RED (N. APPALACHIAN) (more information) All M&P Red Oak is purchased from select Northern Appalachian mills that consistently produce uniform color. All of the Red Oak that is processed is protected from the elements by either the utilization of "shade dry" and/or covered sheds. We also minimize our air drying cycle times to decrease any drying defects such as surface checking, warp and discoloration due to weathering. S2S to 3/4" NET This material is S2S to 3/4" and or 13/16"; it's perfect for applications and profiles netting less than 3/4".
WIDTH SORTED All M&P width sorted Red Oak will net the S4S finished size for each specific sort. The "pick" range for the half width sort sizes are noted for special utilization purposes.
